The Real MIKE BAILEY - Volume 1
I live in the city of Seattle. I was born here and partly raised here. I have also lived in Toms River, New Jersey where I spent my formative years from ages 11 to 16. I spent half my life trying to get back to Seattle. After we came back to the State of Washington my parents moved farther and farther away from Seattle. We moved to the little town of Snohomish when I was in my junior year of high school, then I joined the Marines Corps after I graduated from high school. Then when I got back from 18 months of war training and war I got married. We ended up staying in Snohomish County. All in all it took me almost 30 years to get back to my home town. I came back to Seattle in 1989 and have been here ever since. I love traveling, photography, writing, art, culinary arts, family history and many other things. You will find all these and more on this blog.

Hello Mike. I've just finished reading your blog. It has taken me an hour to read all through it, but what a truly wonderful hour it has been. I found your writings really fascinating and very moving too, but mostly inspirational. I am only in my mid 30's, but when I was little I used to write poetry and plays and I wanted to write. Somehow, all that seems to have become lost in the day to day rat race, but after reading your blog I feel ready to pick up a pen again, to get out and walk, and look around my beautiful countryside. I live in Dorset in England. I'm surrounded by such beautiful scenery, but I never take any notice of it. I have a digital camera and I just use it to take pictures of my daughter. While she is very beautiful, she's not the only beautiful thing for me to photograph! Thank you Mike, for this lovely site (which I will visit often) and for the inspiration - what a great way to start a Monday morning!
Thank you for the nice comments. I'm finding that the more I go out and take pictures and put them in this blog the more ideas I get. Since I can't put all my ideas on the blog at once,I write them all down on pieces of paper and put them in a box and after awhile they eventually end up on the blog. Good luck with your endeavors. Mike
Hmm I love the idea behind this website, very unique.

Hello again Mike. I know a little about Woody Guthrie but why is this vegetarian meal named after him? It seems a strange thing to do!
I sent you an e-mail, but I'll also leave a comment here. I have no idea why they named that vegetarian ommelette after Woody Guthrie. I have never heard that he was a vegetarian. I will ask the next time I go to that resturant and I'll publish what I find out on this blog. Thanks for writing. Mike
Hello Claire, I wrote you an e-mail, but I'll also leave a comment here. I don't know why they named that vetetarian omlette after Woody Guthrie. I have never heard that he was a vetetarian. I'll ask next time I go in there and publish the answer on this blog. Mike
